An open house for friends and neighbors was held on June 9, 2018, at Upper Hill Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Plans were made in advance to include tours of the chapel and a BBQ for refreshments that the Young Single Adults (YSA) provided as service and wore their Mormon Helping Hands shirts.
Missionaries were available to answer gospel questions and explain such things as the ordinance of the Sacrament. Members were positioned in each classroom to clarify the purpose of the auxiliaries—Women’s Relief Society, Young Men and Young Women organizations, Primary and Family Search. The young children were entertained with an inflatable bouncing house in the courtyard.

With much to enjoy at the Open House, investigators outnumbering the members, attendees could see the gospel in living motion and see others who love and live the gospel. The point of an Open House is about service, magnifying callings, and enjoying the spirit on a day other than Sunday.
The smoky BBQ smelled divine and those who tasted agreed the YSA certainly know how to roast mbuzi!
