Nairobi Units Open Doors to Neighbors

Five units in Nairobi share gospel messages with neighbors

Banners, missionaries and members invited Nairobi residents into chapels of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  July and August saw members of the Kyole 2nd, Ngong, Ongata Rongai, Mololongo, and Riruta units polishing and preparing their church buildings to receive invited guests from their neighborhoods at open houses. Guests received hand-delivered invitations prior to the event and were welcomed as they passed along the road. Upon entering, they were greeted and invited to sign a guest book before taking a tour through the building. In every room of the chapel they met a host member who explained the use of that room and the gospel principles taught therein.

Ngong branch  welcomed 50 visitors, 20 of whom were not members. Ngong mebers invited adults to tour the chapel and provided games to entertain the children while their parents toured the building and learned about the gospel. Below, Hosea Kiplagat welcomes his running team mate, Hosea Kipkemoi, to the open house.  Both friends attended church together the next Sunday..
