On easter weekend members of the Zimmerman congregation of the Nairobi East area of The Church participated in a well-planned “Mormon Helping Hands” project. Members helped with various service activates held at the “Little Sisters of the Poor” catholic care center. Edna Kamau, who is the Helping Hands specialist for the Zimmerman members organized the service activity.

The projects included food preparation, floor and window cleaning, general yard clean-up and spreading cheer to the more than 70 bed care facility. The 14 members who participated stated the project was a success. Kenya National Public Affairs Director Joshua Njoroge said, “projects like this make you feel proud to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.” Mormon Helping Hands continues to send a strong message to communities that Christ like service shows love and compassion to those in need.
