Humanitarian Projects in Kenya

Senior missionary couples serve for 18-24 months, without compensation, for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They learn to love the people. It becomes a part of their lives. They are grateful for the opportunity to serve, changing lives, including their own.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints provides relief and development projects for Humanitarian purposes in countries all over the world. Projects are chosen without regard to the nationality or religion of the recipients.

Senior missionary couples serve for 18 to 24 months, without compensation, from the Church . The following video shows an example of how the Church's Humanitarian Services work in Kenya. Elder and Sister Jensen, stationed in Mombasa as humanitarian missionaries give us some insight as to how they learned to love the people as the work became part of their lives.

"We are grateful for the opportunity to serve, changing lives, including our own," expresses Sister Jensen.

The mission statement of humanitarian service for the Church is to relieve suffering, to foster self-reliance for people of all nationalities and religions, and to provide opportunities for service.
